You can overcome this by preface your questions by saying

“I like to be the guy that asks a lot of dumb questions about why things are the way they are"

You need to overcome a challenge here:

If you dig deeper, its not about asking stupid question, its about having a high-level of self esteem and are humble enough to learn from anyone, even people who supposedly know less than they do.
